Baby Clothes
Ok. Let's talk about baby clothes... :)
I know, I know... buying that ADORABLE little outfit (or five) is THE most FUN part of shopping for a new baby.
But, for now, I'm asking that all clothes-buying urges be kept in check. Put on the back burner.
Why?
Well, first of all... we don't know what we're having yet!
Second of all.... if we are having a girl, then, bless GOD! We have absolutely ZERO need for a single stitch of girl clothing. I still have every piece of Michaela's baby clothes, stored away. They are all still in impeccable shape, with maybe the exception of some of the thinner onesies. But by and large, we have NO need for little girl clothes. We are set on little girls clothes.. from 0-18 months. True story!
If we are having a boy, yes.. we'd need a few things in the clothes department. But I am always seeing baby clothes being sold through a local Mom's group.. super cheap and in great shape. So, outfitting a little boy will be easy and affordable for us, I think. If, at a later time, you absolutely felt the need to buy an outfit for a boy, I guess that'd be alright... we would just prefer (and have a bigger need of) other things to prepare for a little one.

Are We Having a Boy or Girl?
The short answer: We don't know yet! I'm embarking on Week 13 of my pregnancy, and somewhere around 20 weeks is when we will have the ultrasound that *should* be able to tell us if we are having a Boy Baby Dee or a Girl Baby Dee. I thot of putting names there, in place of 'Baby Dee', but we haven't made any firm decisions on those yet. The boy name is mostly settled upon, but that is only because it was easy to choose that one.
For us, the meaning behind the name of our children is paramount. We don't just want 'cute' names; their names must also mean something... and something GOOD. We chose "Michaela" because it means, usually, "Who is like God?" - which, I'm sure you'll agree, is amazing. Every time I speak my daughter's name, I am praising God. Hallelujah!
The name doesn't have to be expressly Hebrew... altho "Michaela" is. But her middle name is not. The name we have mostly decided upon for a boy has a Hebrew middle name, but the first name is Irish.
It's not that we have a boy's name because that's what we are secretly hoping to have. Well, ok. Not what *I'm* secretly hoping to have. Daddy Dee has 2 girls already, so he's hoping for a boy. I, on the other hand, am... neutral. I want a healthy me, healthy pregnancy, and a healthy baby. Period.
But MAN, I am having a TERRIBLE time finding a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning for a little girl. I confess to having already spent HOURS on this, and I am still coming up with nothing. In fact, I've repeatedly prayed: "Father, if You've given me another girl, then PLEASE tell me what You want me to name her."
As for "Mother's Intuition" - I don't know that it is kicking in here. I 'knew', weeks before any ultrasound with Michaela. I was in the car, and a song came on, "In My Daughter's Eyes". In that moment, this knowing just blossomed within me. I can't really describe it better than that. And... a precious daughter I have :)
This time... I got nothin'. I will tell you that when I think of the baby, I can only see a boy. BUT!!! I can't put any stock in that. Thomas is constantly (sort of) joking about 'his son' and Michaela's 'little brother'. So, I must, in wisdom, chalk that up to his regular chatter about a boy. God bless him.
So... we don't really know yet. But as soon as we do, we will let everyone know. I sometimes think that family and friends are more anxious to know what Mama is having than she & Daddy herself are :)
But when we know.. you will, too! :)

Thanks for Visiting!!
Hi, everyone!!!
I've set up this little blog in an attempt to format a virtual baby shower, of sorts. Here on this blog, I will be listing the items I need for the baby.
It will be a specialized list. We are extremely fortunate, in that, while we've certainly had times when we could've used the cash from selling our baby stuffs; I just never could bring myself to do so. Now, I'm praising GOD for wisdom. We have a great deal of the things we'd already need.
Such as:
Nursery furniture
High Chair
Bouncy Seat
Swing
Walker
A Breast Pump
"Diaper" Bags
Enough Cloth Diapers for the bulk of our diapering career.
I am so, so grateful that I didn't get rid of these things previously!
Of course, we do have need of a few things. And, times are still tight for us. Since we have no health insurance, we will be having to pay for the birth out-of-pocket, which is going to cost us $4400 with a midwife. And this must be paid 'as we go', and must be paid in full by the 36th week of pregnancy. We will also be responsible for my bloodwork and ultrasound(s). Here, I must add that I would covet your prayers for a perfectly healthy pregnancy, so all goes according to this plan; otherwise, I just don't know how we could afford an obstetrcian and a hospital birth!
Sooo, anyway... We are also so, so grateful that our family and friends love us and Baby Dee enough to want to bless us in preparing for him/her!
I will be posting the items that we will have actual need of. While I realize that shopping by a wish list might take some of the baby shoppin' fun out if it for some of you, I must strongly ask that you do so. We do have a true and serious need for certain items; we also have absolutely zero need for others. I positively hate to think of any of you wasting your hard earned money on something we can't or won't use.
So, thank you in advance!! Again, we are so deeply grateful for your love toward us and our sweet little peanut. We are so amazed and excited at what God has wrought. I truly never thought I'd have another child. Most of you know my history enough to know that Michaela was a miracle, in and of herself! But now, He has given me TWO! Truly, He is worthy to be praised!
Thanks for visiting! Love you all!
